OUR STORY

Fibre Fale was founded by Julia Arnott-Neenee and Eteroa Lafaele to bridge the digital divide and grow representation of Pacific people in tech.

 

Since launching Fibre Fale in November 2022, we have engaged with over 10,000 people across more than 70 events and programmes and reached over 3 million people online.

Julia Arnott-Neenee

Co-Founder and Director

Julia is an award-winning trailblazer and thought-leader who has worked in tech all over the world—Australia, the UK and the USA—before she returned home to Aotearoa in 2020 with a mission to serve Pasifika communities. She’s passionate about digital equity, representation and creating opportunities, which led her to co-found Fibre Fale in 2022. As a CEO, Social Entrepeneur and Board Member, she’s driven by her core values: justice, people and the future.

Eteroa Lafaele

Eteroa is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honouree, Young New Zealander of the Year 2025, NZ Hi-Tech Young Achiever 2024 and proud Sāmoan Software Engineer from Cannon’s Creek, Porirua. As the Founder of DigiTautua and Co-Founder of Fibre Fale, she's passionate about breaking barriers and has dedicated her career to ensuring that Pacific peoples have access to the technology, skills and opportunities needed to prosper in an increasingly digital world.

Saphron Matamua

Saphron is a creative powerhouse and strategist, born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau and now based in Te Tai Tokerau. She’s spent the last 10 years navigating a portfolio career in the digital world—doing everything from design and marketing to brand and digital strategy. An advocate for Pacific people in tech and the creative industries as well as a Mother of three, Saphron is passionate about empowering Moana peoples with the skills to thrive in the future of work.
